Salt Grass Trail Ride

My parents and there best friends left Thursday (February 16th) to go on the Salt Grass Trail Ride. They have been planning and packing and getting things ready for this trip for over a month! My family has gone on MANY trail rides with our horses but this is the biggest one. This trail ride has over 2,000 people on it that ranges in age and usually the people ride horses or mules that are 8-14 years old, but our horses are 4 fixing to turn 5. But anyways, this is a LONG trail ride about 90 miles from Cat Springs, TX all the way to Houston, TX for the opening weekend of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo! How cool is that. My parents call me every night and just rant and rave about how much fun they are having making me so jealous that im stuck here in Nac working! They ride each day 20 miles and stop at a campsite, where people drive there trucks and trailers to, to stay the night. Once they arrive there, they unsaddle the horses, take showers in there trailer then someone rings the dinner bell (how old fashion can you get) and you go to dinner. Later that night there's a big country/western dance and live music and lots of entertaining. Gosh im just jealous thinking about how much fun this would of been to go on! Since we only have 2 horses and theres me, mom, and dad. I just got news yesterday that were thinking of getting another horses for pleasure riding and not breeding. So im on the hunt this week to start looking! Im sooo excited! Anyways, I dont have pictures of my parents ride right now since there still gone, but heres past pictures of other peoples ride!
